Mike Liang 

FCPA, CA, RCA, RTA, ACAA Founder and Managing Partner

Mike is an all-rounder leader in the professional service sector. He helps many companies solve complex problems in investments, risks management and business compliance in Australia. 


Mike brings informed and practical solutions to his clients benefiting from his extensive experience and global exposure to complex transactions in a diverse range of industries. 


Mike’s core expertise is the accounting and reporting under AASB/IFRS/CAS, M&A deal services, audit and assurance, business processes improvement. He has worked at international accounting firms including KPMG, PwC and Mazars and holds senior position or directorship in local and international organizations.


Mike’s clients include Beijing Clean Energy Group, Hutchison Ports, Shanghai Automobile International Group, CECEP, Unionpay, CRRC Yangtze Australia, Sunglow Group, Tigermed, Novogen, Enirgi Mining Group,  Oppo Mobile, Ctrip Australia and many other international corporations.

Rod Henderson

Senior Tax Counsel

Coming out of KPMG with over 20 years' experience as a tax partner, Rod has assisted a range of Australian and international companies to navigate the complexities of taxation, business, finance and government policy to successfully grow and expand.


Rod has helped companies expand globally, raise funds and grow their business organically or through successful M&A activity. As lead tax adviser on some of Australia’s largest transactions, Rod has experience with takeovers, mergers, IPOs, divestments, joint ventures, capital raisings and complex funding arrangements.


With specialist experiences in climate change issues, emissions trading and renewable energy, Rod has advised on the structuring and development of many wind farms, solar and hydro projects. He has spoken on tax and sustainability at global seminars in Australia, China, Brazil and Singapore.


Rod has assisted companies and industries consult with Government on new policy including the Minerals Resource Rent Tax and the Carbon Tax. He appeared before the Senate Economics Committee to make submissions on tax policy reforms.

Alan Chen

Manager

Alan is Manager in the Transaction Service team of Wis Partners. He has almost 6 years’ professional experience in M&A Transaction Service and Financial Audit area, with focus on financial due diligence, financial modelling and business valuation. Before joining in Wis Partners, Alan worked at Deloitte China as the M&A Transaction Service Senior Associate. Prior to Deloitte, he was an Audit Associate at  PwC China.

  

Alan contributed in many China domestic and outbound M&A deal, serving PE fund and strategic investors across a broad spectrum of industry sectors including e-commerce, manufacturing, fin-tech, real estate, logistics and renewable energy.


His clients mainly comprised Suning, China Resources, Royal Golden Eagle, Wanda, SEG, Yunda Express, China Merchant Capital, Cathay Capital and Vision Knight Capital.

Steven Wu

Associate Manager

Steven is Audit in-charge in the audit team of Wis Partners. He has over 5 years’ professional experience in the Audit area. He has extensive experience in managing and delivering audit services to multinational group companies as well as private entities. His clients include entities from diversified industries, including real estate, e-commerce, automobile, financial services as well as manufacturing. Before joining Wis Partners, Steven worked at RSM as a Senior Auditor.

Hester Hao

Senior Accountant

Hester is the senior accountant of Wis Partners. She has over 5 years ‘professional experience in the Auditing and Accounting areas, and her main service targets are State Owned Entities (China) and Australian local enterprises. Before joining Wis Partners, Hester worked as an accountant at Mazars.


Hester's professional qualifications & memberships include:

Ron Bao

Associate

Graduated from the University of Sydney with a Master degree specialist in Professional Accounting, Ron joined Wis Partners in 2018 and holds the position of Associate.


He has been widely involved in business advisory services for most of the time. Specialising in business compliance services and company secretarial services, whilst also offering assistance in general taxation advice on a number of matters.

His industry experience includes serving clients working in real estate, wholesaler and distribution, construction, financial service and technology.


His honesty, integrity and professionalism are qualities many people appreciate.

Yiran Yang

Associate

Yiran joined Wis Partners in 2019 as the associate in the audit and transaction service team. He was actively engaged in consulting and research services for clients in a range of industries including healthcare, FMCG and e-commerce before joining Wis Partners.

Kelly Wang

Assistant Accountant

Kelly is the assistant accountant of Wis Partners. She was actively engaged in accounting services for clients in a range of industries including telecommunication, commercial bank and education before joining Wis Partners.

  Richard Lai

Counsel

Richard is an expert in financial analysis and business services. He has the extensive analytic experience and business knowledge across several industries such as utility, renewable energy,  mining and logistic. Richard spent over ten years in large corporations including Energex Ltd, Toll Australia Group, Xstrata Copper, Expeditors international, Hanjin Shipping and SINOPEC.


Richard is also a registered migration agent, specializing in business migration and working visa. This enables him to comprehensively help overseas companies, entrepreneurs and their families invest and stay in Australia.

  Rhyson Li

Counsel

Rhyson joined the Energy and Utility Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Beijing Office in 2001 when he received his bachelor’s degree from Central University of Finance and Economics (CUEF 中央财经大学).


During his 10 years in PwC, Rhyson was involved in the audit and accounting service for China’s largest Power and Utility Companies, most importantly, Huaneng Power and Datang Power. Rhyson was involved in many transactions in the power and utility sector in China. Rhyson is proud to be the Signing CPA for Huaneng Power International Inc (华能国际) and Datang Power Generation (大唐发电) in 2008 and 2009. From 2005 to 2007, Rhyson went on secondment in PwC UK  in London and Glasgow, serving top-tier power and utility clients including Scottish Power and InterGen.


Rhyson left PwC in 2010 and took the CFO role of China Hydroelectric Corporation (中华水电), a US-listed Chinese power company with 20+ subsidiaries across China.


Rhyson moved to Australia in late 2011 and took the CFO role in AusChina Energy Group (中澳能源集团), in a Sydney-based clean energy company, a JV established by Fortune 500 companies. From 2013 to now, Rhyson has been engaged by a few Chinese energy companies in a variety of directorship and advisory roles –

Rhyson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing. He is a Fellow of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 2003, a Member of the Certified Public Accountants Association in Australia since 2010, and a member of the Australian Tax Institute since 2013. Rhyson is also a columnist for an Australia-based Chinese Media, Australian Financial News (AFN) since 2016. His articles primarily cover the renewable energy, power and utility, and property sectors and attract more than 2,000 readers. Rhyson is fluent in Mandarin and English.
